After the show I immediately started Lisa Lillien’s diet. So far it’s not difficult at all. In fact, it is amazing because I am able to eat large portions and the recipes are really easy to make. I start off every day with a hot cup of water with lemon and Hungry Girl oatmeal. I make sure to have plenty of veggies on hand for snacks until lunch, which is usually a salad or a lean green shake. For dinner, my favorite is a Hungry Girl pasta. I have also been drinking tons of water during the day. My skin looks amazing; I have the Beyoncé glow going on.

The hardest part so far has been the meal prep. I previously was not a disciplined or organized person, and I lived a very unhealthy life. Meal prep can get frustrating the first couple of times, but it is necessary for success. I have the hang of it now, and I feel better because I just reach in the fridge and I know exactly what I am going to eat. I don’t even want fast food anymore. I like the ability to control exactly what I eat and the ingredients. Before I go to the grocery store, I make a list and go in with a plan. I stick to the outer aisles of the grocery store and I am able to get in and out in 30 minutes because I have a list and I stick to it. Every time I start to crave a fish sandwich, onion ring or ice cream I think about how that food will make me feel. As soon as I get home, I rinse all my veggies and separate them for the week or freeze them depending on what they are. I love freezing cucumbers, grapes and berries. I now control what goes into my body and it feels really good to be so organized and living a healthy life.

My workout routine so far consists of circuit training with friends throughout the week. We train in the neighborhood, on the track and in the gym. By doing a cardio circuit I never get bored because it is constantly changing and it’s actually fun! I use my workouts as a time to be social with my friends. We also encourage each other, which is a big help. The first day of exercising was the hardest day ever! I went too hard and got a charley horse in my leg, which was a reality check that I was not hydrating enough. I was so mad at myself, but my friends encouraged me and told me that it will get easier every day. I am so happy I have friends who support my healthy lifestyle change. I rested the next day and then got right back to working out again. I feel so much better about living an active life. Right now I do 45 minutes of cardio circuit training five days a week. So far I am down six pounds and I feel amazing. I am so thankful for Dr. Oz and Lisa Lillien for believing in me, and helping me every step of the way.
