Lauren Streicher, MD

Dr. Lauren Streicher is an Associate Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University’s medical school, The Feinberg School of Medicine, in Chicago. Her clinical interests include all aspects of gynecology but Dr. Streicher has a particular interest and expertise in menopause, sexual health, minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopic hysterectomy, and alternatives to hysterectomy. Dr. Streicher is a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist,  a member of the Association for Gynecologic Laparoscopy, The Sexual Medicine Society of North America, The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health and a certified menopause practitioner of The North American Menopause Society.

Considered a thought leader in her field, Dr. Streicher has appeared in numerous national and local media outlets discussing all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her “What’s Up Down There” segments were seen weekly on NBC’s In The Loop With iVillage. She hosted “Advances in Women’s Health" on Reach MD XM 24, the station for medical professionals. She appears regularly on ABC’s Windy City Live. Castle Connolly and Chicago Magazine have consistently recognized her as one of the “Top Doctors” in Chicago.

Her  book, The Essential Guide to Hysterectomy, remains the #1 book on hysterectomy on Amazon.com. The second edition was released in February 2013. She is currently working on a book about sexual health after menopause.
