William W. Li, MD

Dr. William W. Li is an international expert in health and disease-fighting based on a new approach called angiogenesis – keeping the body’s blood vessels in natural balance. As President, founder and medical director of the Angiogenesis Foundation, he is leading worldwide efforts to bring forth revolutionary ways to prevent and treat cancer, diabetes, blindness, heart disease, obesity, and more than 70 other conditions.

He has presented at the TED Conference, with videos of his TED Talk surpassing 2 million Internet views. Dr. Li’s Eat to Defeat campaign, conducted as a member of the Clinton Global Initiative, fights cancer using diet and has impacted more than 23 million people across 94 countries.

A highly sought guest and speaker, Dr. Li has appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, Martha Stewart Live, CNN, MSNBC, Hay House Radio, and Voice America. His work has been cited by USA Today, TIME magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, and CNN.

In 2010, rock star Bono recognized Dr. Li in The New York Times as “one of the top 10 to watch for in the coming decade with the potential to change the world.”

Dr. Li’s research has been published in Science, The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, and Nature Reviews.

A graduate of Harvard College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Li completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Li serves on the boards of the Angiogenesis Foundation, Newman-Lakka Cancer Foundation, American College of Wound Healing and Tissue Repair, and Bates-Jensen Wound Research Foundation.
