Fitness guru Shaun T has transformed the bodies of thousands with his Insanity Workout. He’ll also be the first to tell you that fitness happens in the gym – and in the kitchen.
So, what’s so good about his fridge? We’ll tell you.
- Shaun T takes his hydration seriously. No surprise here, considering that it’s his career to work up a sweat. Even if you’re not putting in hours at the gym every day, hydration is crucial. Water composes around 60% of your body weight. Nearly every system of your body needs it to function properly, and yet, many of us don’t get enough on a daily basis. Drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water daily. You can also stay hydrated by eating water-rich foods like watermelon, papaya, cucumber and celery.
- Oranges and peppers are high in vitamin C. Vitamin C does more than help you fight colds. It is also a cancer-fighter. Vitamin C knocks out free radicals, dangerous compounds that arise as a part of body metabolism.
- Cucumbers are a great way to fill up without consuming a lot of calories. One cucumber contains only 15 calories and contains silica, which improves the health of your skin.
- Sweet potatoes are high in vitamin A and rich in antioxidants. They are also an excellent alternative to regular potatoes and refined white flours – and you can do a lot with them. Try any one of these sweet potato recipes if you’re looking for a satisfying side dish.
