My husband went a little food crazy the other day and bought a huge amount of beautiful tomatoes and peaches at our local farm stand. This left me with the problem of having too much very ripe produce and not enough time to eat it all. Of course, tomato sauce came to mind, but then I was looking at those beautiful peaches getting close to being past their prime. Why not add some to the sauce? Genius! It made a delightful tomato sauce with an extra fruity dimension, giving the sauce more depth that is definitely worth cooking again and again.
