Watermelon, Pepper and Grape Smoothie

Homemade Watermelon Juice

Juices are all the rage these days and even I have myself developed a few. But I cannot shake the feeling that even if you run the discarded pulp through the juicer several times you still waste an awful lot of the fruits and vegetables in the process. To me that seems nutritionally and economically unwise. My preferred method to make smoothies from veggies and fruits is a good high powered blender. No waste there; every little bit of the ingredients are getting used, the mouth feel is more satisfying and as a bonus – the cleanup is a snap compared to a juicer’s mess. If you love smoothies, you should give this or one of these slimming recipes a try!

Ingredients
(Makes 2 1/2 cups)

1 1/2 cup watermelon cubes
1 cheers red pepper, cored
1 red beet
1 cup red grapes
juice of 1 lime

Directions
Process all ingredients in a blender, adding a little water if necessary. Enjoy!
